Judge of the Primorsky District Court of Odesa, Serhiy Kichmarenko, has been temporarily suspended from his position due to his disrespect towards prosecutors during case consideration.

The First Disciplinary Chamber of the Supreme Council of Justice has decided to remove Serhiy Kichmarenko from his position, citing a lack of respect for prosecutors. The suspension will remain in effect until the corresponding decision is revoked.
Prosecutors provided examples of the judge's contempt during case hearings, where he dictated which evidence should be presented and which the court was not interested in. Such actions are considered an obstruction of the free defense of the legal position by the prosecution party.
What is known about Serhiy Kichmarenko
Serhiy Kichmarenko served as the head of the Primorsky court for 18 years. In 2024, he and his wife, who is also a judge, purchased apartments in elite residential complexes. Additionally, in 2020, the judge bought a house in a village near Odesa.
Recently, an attack on a journalist was recorded in the Odesa court, and there was also a case where a judge's assistant closed cases for money.
