SBU has identified the perpetrator of the strike on the Health Route in Odesa.

The SBU investigators announced the suspicion of a Russian military officer who ordered a missile strike on civilian objects in Odesa, including the Health Route and the building of the International Humanitarian University.

The Office of the Prosecutor General announced the suspicion against Yevgeny Lederer, who ordered the shelling of Odesa on April 29, 2024, from the 'Iskander-M' missile system. The investigation believes that Lederer's actions were intentional and aimed at the civilian population, which constitutes a war crime under international law.

Strike on the Health Route: what is known

The missile strike claimed the lives of eight people, and another 23 were injured. Among the deceased was the university's vice-rector Boris Vasilyev, and the former member of parliament Sergey Kivalov was also injured. As a result of the explosion, the Palace of Students of the Odesa Law Academy, known in the city as 'Harry Potter's castle,' was burned down.

The greatest tragedy was the death of 4-year-old Zlata, who sustained severe injuries during the missile attack. Doctors fought for her life for almost a month, performing a complex heart surgery, and the child was in a coma. However, on May 26, her heart stopped.
