Ukrainian military is revising their approach to building defensive structures in response to new methods from the Russian aggressor. The Russian side is using small infantry groups and drones, complicating the defense against a classic tank assault. Therefore, Ukraine is moving towards constructing smaller strongpoints that are harder to detect.
“What is happening in a number of regions is chaos. Almost no one knows who is responsible for what and who should control the process. We always wait until the last moment,” said Roman Pohorilyi.
Despite commanders' statements about the success of constructing defensive structures, analysts and fighters point to problems. The Russian side is looking for weak points in the defense and trying to exploit them, requiring constant improvement of Ukraine's defense system.
