Foreign tourist spending in Europe is expected to rise by 11% this year.

This year, international tourist spending in Europe is expected to increase by 11%, reaching 838 billion dollars. France and Spain will be particularly popular among travelers. This is reported by Reuters, citing a report from the World Travel and Tourism Council.
WTTC predicts that some tourists will avoid trips to the United States. This optimistic sentiment may be related to that. The organization anticipates a 7% decrease in spending by foreign visitors in the U.S. this year.
WTTC CEO Julia Simpson noted during a press briefing that Canadians and Mexicans may refrain from traveling to the U.S. due to President Trump's policies or unfavorable currency exchange rates, which will lead to increased tourist flows to Europe. WTTC calculated that tourists in Spain will spend 6% more this year than in 2024, totaling 113.2 billion euros. The country is expected to welcome between 98 to 100 million tourists, exceeding last year's record of 94 million.
News from the tourism sector often shows how travelers' preferences change due to various factors. Politics, currency exchange rates, popular tourist destinations - all of these can influence travel choices, expenditures, and selected destinations. In this context, the anticipated growth in tourist spending in Europe and the decline in the U.S. seems logical.
