In February 2025, Ukraine increased its electricity imports by almost 30% to 244 thousand MWh, according to monitoring data from ExPro Electricity.
The largest amount of electricity was imported from Hungary - 35% of the total volume, as well as from Slovakia - 30%. The smallest volume of electricity was received from Moldova (partly possible re-import from Romania). Imports from Hungary increased by 77% over the month, and compared to February 2024, it has increased by 2.9 times.
However, as reports from ExPro Electricity Daily confirm, the reserved transmission capacity is only used at 30-50%, depending on the Time of day.
It was previously reported that in January 2025, Ukraine reduced electricity imports by 56% to approximately 189 thousand MWh compared to December 2024.
