During a two-day summit of allies, French President Emmanuel Macron urged European countries to rearm due to the threat posed by revisionist Russia. 'In the face of aggressive and revisionist Russia, which continues to destabilize our borders, Europe must rearm,' Macron emphasized.
At the summit, the participating countries supported the need to strengthen defense efforts and develop the European contribution to NATO. The French President also emphasized the strategic importance of supporting Ukraine for continental security, stating his readiness to continue this support.

Against this backdrop, NATO countries agreed to increase defense spending, proposing to allocate 5% of their gross domestic product to defense.
