The European Union has decided to strengthen control over the import of Russian gas. Now companies must enter into agreements that comply with certain conditions and disclose all the details of their contracts. In particular, it is planned to completely prohibit the import of Russian liquefied gas by 2027, as well as to stop new agreements with Russia by the end of the current year.
This decision is aimed at reducing dependence on Russian gas and increasing the security of energy supply in Europe. The European Commission is also considering the possibility of imposing a ban through a special trade mechanism, but specific details have yet to be clarified.
