Matviy Strogalev impressed everyone with his performance at the Ukrainian Athletics Championship for boys and girls born in 2008 and younger, which took place in Lviv. He won the 'bronze' in pole vaulting, showing the best result in the world for the U14 age category - 4.00 m.
Matviy: 'Honestly, I didn't even expect that I could jump like this. Actually, right now I don't feel any emotions - I still can't believe it. I got on the pole and everything worked out. This is just the beginning. I set a goal for myself, achieved it - and somehow I don't want to stop.'
Matviy has been pole vaulting since childhood, his mother is a well-known coach and former athlete who supports him at every step.
Matviy Strogalev showed an extraordinary achievement at the Ukrainian Athletics Championship, surprising the world with his talent. He plans to continue working on his achievements in sports.
