UN estimates Gaza reconstruction at 53 billion dollars.

Gaza needs over 53 billion dollars for recovery and to prevent catastrophe, said UN
The United Nations reported that over 53 billion dollars are necessary for the recovery of the Gaza Strip and to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe. Of this amount, 20 billion dollars must be allocated within the first three years.
The UN report also states that before the reconstruction of the enclave begins, political and security conditions must be established, as well as finding a solution based on the two-state principle to end the Israeli occupation. This was reported by Ukrinform, citing AFP.
'The report estimates the costs for the recovery and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip at 53.142 billion dollars. Over three years, about 20.568 billion dollars is expected to be spent,' said UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
According to UN estimates, about 60% of homes were destroyed during the conflict between Israel and Hamas, so 15.2 billion dollars are needed for the recovery of the housing sector. Additionally, 6.9 billion dollars are needed for the recovery of trade, industry, and healthcare. The agricultural sector requires 4.2 billion dollars, while 2.9, 2.7, and 2.6 billion dollars are needed for transport, water supply, sanitation, and education respectively.
The report also emphasizes that in the environmental sector, huge expenses are expected amounting to 1.9 billion dollars due to rubble, unexploded ordnance, and the removal of debris.
According to the UN, due to the war in Gaza, over 50 million tons of hazardous materials have formed, including waste, unexploded ordnance, asbestos, and human remains.
